International Youth Volunteerism Summit

The International Youth Volunteer : Social Entrepreneurship in Youth Volunteerism is looking for passionate 18-25 year old students and volunteers from around the world. The inaugural IYVSummit is a weekend designed to celebrate the impulses behind youth volunteerism around the world while at the same time creating a social and intellectual space for serious critical discussion of the limits and pitfalls of those impulses. Through keynote speakers, panel discussions, and project focused workshops, we hope to give delegates a chance to build the knowledge, skills, and contacts to be more productively engaged across borders. To whom it may concern:

We are looking for enthusiastic young adults between the ages of 18 - 25 who have an interest in volunteerism to participate in an International Youth Volunteerism Summit at on February 23-26, 2006.

The inaugural IYVSummit is a weekend designed to celebrate the impulses behind youth volunteerism around the world while at the same time creating a social and intellectual space for serious critical discussion of the limits and pitfalls of those impulses.

IYVS will select and sponsor 10 international participants to join 50 American students and a group of 40 social entrepreneurs, NGO executives, and academic experts. The summit will include panel discussions, workshops, lectures and collaborative work on a group volunteer project. We are looking for a diverse group of participants and encourage everyone to apply regardless of previous volunteer experience. Travel, housing and food will be provided for the chosen international participants.
